IoT in Mining, Oil & Gas

Home page

October 26, 2016

The world of mining, oil and gas is changing rapidly.  A flat world economy, changing technology and the move from construction to operation introduces many new challenges.  Widespread use of sensor technology combined with modern communications and data analytics offers opportunities for increased efficiency, more precise planning, greater automation and improved inventory management.

The Internet of Things has special relevance and meaning for mining, oil and gas.  The infrastructure and environment for these industries create special challenges for sensor development, communications systems and process analysis.  Infrastructure security is crucially important to avoid inadvertent or deliberate damage.

DeepSensor will bring together experts from producers, suppliers, Academia and Government to share insights into the continuing deployment of IoT in these crucial industries.
